The Episcopal Church’s Book of Common Prayer titles the wedding ceremony “The Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage.” It is a ceremony where we ask God’s blessing on your marriage and celebrate Christ’s sacrificial love as the foundation for your new life together.

Confirmation strengthens the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the life of someone who has been living the new life of Baptism and who has matured in faith. Like baptism, it cannot be repeated.

In Baptism, we are united with Christ in his death and resurrection, and born into God’s family, the Body of Christ, the Church. Original sin is washed away, our actual sins are forgiven, and we receive new life in the Holy Spirit.
